The tournament aims to raise $200,000 to fund a mental health-focused community center in Richmond. This center will serve as a vital resource for at-risk youth, families, and trauma survivors, providing access to mental health resources, mindful sports camps, and community programming.

Welcome to the HEART Classic Basketball Tournament, hosted by the Yellow Heart Committee (YHC) in partnership with the Richmond Police Activities League (PAL). This two-day event, taking place March 29-30, 2025, honors the legacy of Orlando “OJ” Johnson, a beloved coach, mentor, and former RPD Detective.

8:00 AM - 7:00 PM: Pool games for youth teams (10u, 14u, and high school).
12:00 PM - 2:00 PM: Mural Unveiling and Reception
Honoring Orlando “OJ” Johnson with a keynote address and vision presentation.
Awards: Medals for bronze, silver, and gold; trophies for champions.
Sunday, March 30, 2025
9:00 AM - 5:00 PM: Pool games leading to championship games.
12:00 PM - 1:30 PM: All-Star Showcase
Dunk Contest, Three-Point Contest, Trick-Shot Challenge, and Resource Fair.
Locations: PAL Facility and Sylvester Greenwood Academy.
